The Alliance4Life_BRIDGE (A4L_BRIDGE) partner institutions announce the 1st Call for Industry Internships, offering exciting opportunities for connecting industry and healthcare organisations with researchers at the forefront of scientific and deep-tech R&D.
This call offers industry members to host researchers for a short-term mobility opportunities within the Alliance4Life network. Choose the option that best matches your role and development goals.
These internships aim to foster collaboration, and knowledge exchange through collaborative preliminary problem-solving between industry and academia. The internship should focus on a specific topic or challenge that will be addressed, considering academic and industry feedback, and potentially spurring new ideas for collaborative grant applications or collaborative projects.
Key information
• The 1st call opens on 15 April 2026 and closes on 14 June 2026.
• Internship implementation must be finished by 31st of January 2028.
Internship format
A focused one-week-long visit to the industry for:
- discussing industry challenges and their potential solution;
- conducting short-term studies;
- exploring future collaborative projects;
- delivering lectures on subjects of mutual interest;
In exceptional cases the internship (5 working) days can be distributed within max. 3 months period.
Who can apply and why?
1. Interns from A4L partner institutions (academia – researchers, employees, students*, PhD students*):
- develop projects in collaboration with industry
- gain practical, business-relevant experience
- access real-world challenges, data, and applications
- build networks and future collaboration opportunities
- test and validate research ideas in a real-world setting

2. Industry hosts (start-ups, companies, healthcare organisations):
- access new ideas and expertise to accelerate solution development
- address real R&D challenges through targeted collaboration
- build partnerships that can lead to projects or funding
- access emerging talent

Agreement and legal framework
- Upon selection of the intern and the host institution, the contact person of the sending organisation will arrange preparation of the Internship Agreement.
- A model Internship Agreement has been drafted (see below) as a framework that is both legally appropriate and attractive to our industry partners, ensuring the smooth realization of the programme.
- The sending institution and the host institution are encouraged to use and amend the existing model agreement according to the needs and specifics for each internship.

Application process
Prospective A4L_BRIDGE interns:
- Submit your initial application online (below on this webpage)
- Discuss with the contact person in your institution
- Contact the industry host
- Prepare Internship Agreement with the Company (led by the contact person in your institution)
- Submit your final application
- Receive approval by FG6 expert panel
- Sign an Internship Agreement
