A4L VRC Department of Metabolism and Endocrinology of Skeletal Muscle was presented at the 53rd European Muscle Conference in Vienna

Katarina Miš and Sergej Pirkmajer presented Alliance4Life Virtual Research Center and the Department of Metabolism and Endocrinology of Skeletal Muscle at the 53rd European Muscle Conference, held at the University Biology Building in Vienna from 6 to 9 September 2026. They highlighted that the Department of Metabolism and Endocrinology of Skeletal Muscle at the Alliance4Life Virtual Research Center is dedicated to research on skeletal muscle, particularly its metabolic and endocrine functions.

They explained that Alliance4Life VRC, as part of the A4L_BRIDGE project, was established in 2025 to strengthen scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange among leading health research institutions across Central and Eastern Europe and beyond. They further stressed that VRC’s mission is to create a thriving international scientific network that empowers researchers, accelerates innovation, facilitates societal outreach, and drives societal impact through collaborative biomedical research, education, training, and communication initiatives. In addition, they reiterated that collaboration with other VRC departments, professional organisations, and patient and citizens’ associations ensures a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to tackling these complex health challenges.
